So this post has absolutely nothing to do with fashion or beauty. It is about life though. I needed to write a little post about it, as I've been following the story since it began and I'm feeling pretty strongly about it.
You may have heard about a university student being extradited to the US, all because he ran a website that contained links to pirated films and TV shows. His name's Richard O'Dwyer. He's 23, like me. He went to Sheffield Hallam, like me. Not like that matters. He wasn't the one making the pirate videos, nor was he the one originally hosting them. He just provided the external links.. a bit like Google.
It can be argued whether it was a stupid idea or not, but personally I think it's a little bit disgusting how he's now being shipped off to the US, even when his website didn't have anything to do with the US. If he's found guilty, he could face a maximum of 5 years in prison. How is all this fair? Surely it should be a UK trial against him... Let him prove his innocent in his home country.
Help a fellow Sheffield Hallam student out and sign this petition please - it'll only take a minute of your time!
