Sleep until the sun goes down

Bralet: Missguided | Jeans: Motel Rocks

I wore this outfit on Sunday night when I went out for a couple of drinks with friends to see a band playing in town. I was probably a bit too dressed up for the occasion, but I didn't care. I love the combination of coloured fringing and the monochrome stripes against each other. The Motel jeans are high enough so I'm not showing too much of my midriff. The bralet fits great, with a zip at the back and adjustable straps (I usually have trouble with straps so thought this was a good addition). It's incredibly similar to the Lavish Alice version, yet slightly cheaper. It's the first time a Missguided order has gone well for me, so I'm very happy!

My working week has begun again - how fast did the bank holiday go?! I'm not too fussed though, as I'm only working 2 days this week! Tomorrow, I'm off to Birmingham for a spa day, followed by having a few too many cocktails, and ending in the delightful place called Snobs. I've never actually been there, but as far as I'm aware, it's the Birmingham's version of Corporation (in Sheffield), which I used to love going to. I've been told not to dress up too much, but that blatantly won't happen...

Vlog Monday #2 | Best Friends

So it's that time of the week again... and I've been counting down until I could upload this video!

A couple of weeks ago, my best friend Jess and I decided to do the 'Best Friends Tag' video, answering some questions, finding out some home truths and generally have a bit of a laugh. This originally lasted for 50 minutes, so I had an epic amount of editing to do! But alas, here it is and hope you enjoy watching it just as much as we enjoyed making it...

Some nights, I always win

Dress: River Island | Wedges: Primark | Bracelets: Given to me from my mum

I fell in love with this River Island number after spotting it in the sale online. It's the pattern and the colour scheme that won me over. The dress itself is very 60s, which is my all-time favourite era. However, it's got a bit of every era thrown in... The pattern is more modern, and the sash tied at the side is from the 80s. I feel like I'm thrown back in time. I love the strong blues and coral pinks throughout this heart pattern. It's quite fitted, with shoulder pads, but they're not overly noticeable, which I prefer. The length is great too, so I have no need for leggings or tights. I could live in this style of dress all the time if I could.

I've got quite a busy day ahead of me today... After a really bad nights sleep (again - seriously, why do nightmares exist?!), I'm off to see one of my best friends for a cup of coffee and a big catch up. He's came home for the weekend so I'm looking forward to see him! Tonight, I'm to see my friend's band The One Twos again, and hopefully have a few drinks afterwards as long as I can persuade the boss (that's my fellow Millward best friend Jess) to stay out with me. We shall see.

Hope you're all having a fab bank holiday weekend!

You're a king and I'm a lionheart

Dress: Zara | Blazer: Primark | Shoes: Irregular Choice

Sorry for the awful iPhone quality photos. I was in such a rush last night to get ready, that my camera decided to not work... So quick iPhone snaps were the best I could do! I finally got the chance to wear my lovely £2 Zara dress that I bought in the sale last month (I won a gift card too, else I would have paid £12)! I love the pale pink shade, the pleats at the front and the black collar. The waist is elasticated so you can move in it easily and it's very comfortable. It's a great length and quite floaty... It's a bit see through though. I have to wear leggings with it else you could see everything. Not good!

I'm so glad it's the weekend now... especially as it's bank holiday. 3 day weekend, don't mind if I do! The fact that I'm off to Birmingham for a spa day and night out with two lovely friends during the week makes it even better, as I'm only at work for 2 days next week. WIN. Last night, I went to Worcester Music Festival to see my friend's band The One Twos play at this great pub called The Firefly. I haven't been to a gig since I left Sheffield, and it's made me really miss that city and lifestyle. Bring on the reunion!

I'd give away a thousand days

I'm lying today, I'm not actually wearing this right now. Oops.
Dress: Oasis via ASOS

I bought this dress for £7 for the ASOS sale. I love shift dresses, but I'm not too sure about this one. I know shift dresses don't really flatter your figure or fit well. They're supposed to be a straight fit, but for some reason I don't like this one. Maybe it's slightly bigger than it should be? The material is quite thin and light... and as my hips are quite wide, I do have to be careful with this style, because sometimes it ends up being quite tight around my hips. I don't get that problem with this dress, but it seems more baggy than it's meant to be... You can see the excess material gathered at the sides. A slight adjustment to the width of it and it should be perfect. I do love the bright pink colour and the single white stripe down the middle. Very statement making and eye catching - right up my street.

It's nearly the weekend and I'm SO happy about that. This week has been full on weird. I can't even begin to explain it... And I wouldn't do anyway, as some things are best kept to yourself, right? I've got quite a busy weekend ahead of me... Including catching up with a few friends, gatecrashing my best friend's Nandos date with her fiance followed by a friend's gig tonight... and hopefully having a chilled out bank holiday (although it may consist of wine drinking on the Sunday. Standard). (:

You had a heart but then you put a hole in mine

Shirt: Topshop | Vest: Primark | Shorts: Zara | Boots: Primark

I actually wore this outfit on Sunday for my nephew's BBQ. Lovely weather during the day, but I couldn't resist wearing my new Primark boots for the first time. I adore the studs at the back and the chunky heel. They're going to be very versatile to wear and will be great for when autumn officially hits. I decided to team them with my favourite Topshop sheer shirt and some denim shorts. Slightly 'mix and match' but I quite like it.

I'm really glad I'm well enough to go back to work now. I was going a bit insane being stuck in the house and fed up feeling ill. I like having some kind of routine in my life and I was just becoming so bored not being able to do anything... So I'm much happier now! Just trying to catch up with everything and everyone now. If anything, I'm starting to feel a bit stressed doing so, but never mind, I'm still happy and I seem to have a smile on my face a lot recently. It's been a long time since that's happened!

Vlog Monday #1 | Primark & Debenhams Haul

I've decided to start a new regular feature on my blog. As you know, I've been wanting to start vlogging for a while now, but never got round to doing so. I've started to get to grips with it and I'm actually really enjoying it.

Yes, I may sound stupidly nervous. Yes, I may ramble on or mumble so you can't hear a word I'm saying. Yes, you may not care about what I'm saying. But at the end of the day, it's just all good fun! If I do annoy anyone (whether it's by the way I talk, what I say etc) then feel free to shout out at me... Although I do hope you enjoy watching just as much as I enjoyed recording. I figured if I keep myself a slot where I have to publish a vlog, then I'll start to love it even more and it'll probably become second nature to me. We shall see.

Here's the first of many (I hope) - my first ever shopping haul, focused on Primark and Debenhams. Yes I hear you - "Ohhh great, another haul video, how original" - well, okay, it's not original, but I genuinely got way too excited about what I bought that I literally HAD to show you them. :)

By the way, I apologise in advance. I say "So yeah" A LOT. So much so, you could almost make a drinking game out of it. A shot for every time I say "So yeah"? You'd be on the floor before you know it. Although obviously I don't advise this. Drink responsibly kids (unless you are actually a kid, in which case, don't drink)!

I'd also like to point out that when I say 'shoulder pads' I actually mean 'elbow patches'. You'll see why in a minute... How embarrassing! Call yourself a fashion blogger?!

Oh what fun we had

Dress: Zara | Top underneath: New Look | Shoes: H&M

I've finally had chance to wear my Zara dress that I bought from the last sale. I'm actually starting to like the colour grey/charcoal - I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because it shows my coloured hair more? I don't know. I love the dip hem, especially as its quite extreme and long. The split at the front is great to show off a bit of leg, without flashing the world! It's so nice to wear, and would be great with a couple of chunky accessories. I had to wear a black crop top underneath though, as it's pretty dangerous to wear without one!

I'm on my last day of antibiotics - yay! I'm so glad the course has finished and I can finally go back to feeling normal. Last night was so much fun. I somehow managed to stay out for 7 hours and went to bed at 4am! I was very careful as well due to my illness, but I'm glad I went out in the end. Early night for me tonight so I'm all ready to tackle work again this week! Quite looking forward to getting some routine back in my life again.

We run tings

T-shirt: Primark | Jeans: Motel Rocks | Rings: Clothes Show Live & Debenhams

I went for both comfort and style today - My favourite Motel Rocks jeans and my favourite Sesame Street tee! I got a few looks today with this t-shirt... Whether those looks were in a good way, I don't know but ah well. I can't point enough how comfortable these Motel jeans are. They're tight, flattering but you can move in them and you don't feel totally squished in them. They're like miracle jeans. As for the Primark tee... Do I really need to give a reason why this is amazing?

Sorry about my little disappearance act this week. I ended up falling quite ill earlier in the week and I've been on antibiotics ever since. Bleurgh! Today has been the first 'normal' day I've had... I've been bed/sofa ridden since Wednesday, but luckily the antibiotics have settled now and I've managed to actually enjoy the start of the weekend. So much so, I've decided to go out tonight for my friend's birthday. I know, I hear you... "Idiot!"... I've been looking forward to this night out all month, and if it wasn't for the fact I feel a lot better today, I wouldn't bother. I'm not going to drink (much) and my best friend will be looking after me, so I'm just excited to have a bit of a dance and a catch up! I've been told I can sit down through the night too (bars and clubs have chairs, well I never) but I'm rather glad about this fact. No doubt I will want to sit down and have a bit of a rest. I'm getting too old for this...

Primark's Christmas Collection

Came across Primark's new Christmas collection on the LOOK magazine website yesterday. I'm getting more and more impressed with Primark as the year goes on, and I'm definitely going to be searching for some of these items to add to my A/W wardrobe.

The pieces are just beautiful, and I really hope the quality of them is similar to those in the photos. Plenty of sequins, dark printed trousers, metallics, embellished collars... A blogger's dream, right? I just wish there were more items in the lovely pale pink shades that are only featured once or twice through the whole lookbook. I've chosen my favourites to show you... Anything capture your eye?

Vlog: My London day out...

The title is self explanatory really! I've finally got round to editing my London video diary... It's a bit of a mix. It's all over the place. I ramble a little bit (please note, I was awake from 3am that day. I was a bit delusional). If anything, it just shows you what it was like at Hyde Park for the triathlon... and if you've never been around Harrods, I videoed in there too, sneaky sneaky, so enjoy!

And I fell heavy into your arms

hi clothes tag inside my skirt
Crop top: H&M | Vest underneath: Topshop | Skirt: Primark | Rings: Handmade

Chose to match up my favourite Primark nautical swallow skirt with a crop top that I have yet to wear. It's quite see through, so a vest was necessary to wear during the day. I love the black lace peter pan collar, and it has buttons all down the back (which I forgot to take photos of... Oops). I'd love some more tops in this style... So versatile for any time of day or occasion.

I've had a really lovely weekend this time round. Ended up going to a place called Bridgnorth for lunch on Saturday, followed by being all nice and chilled, enjoying the sunshine and watching the Olympics... I haven't done much today other than wait for the Closing Ceremony if I'm being honest! It's so strange that the Olympics has finished already... and last night's ceremony was just as amazing as the Opening Ceremony in my opinion. From a fashion blogger point of view, I loved the 'fashion' inclusion with Kate Moss, Sophie Dahl and Naomi Campbell. For everything else, The Spice Girls were insane... Boris dancing to them was the best TV moment EVER. But I think the commentary could have been made so much better if my parents did it...

Dad on girl power
Mum: "I'd rather listen to George Michael than the Spice Girls." Dad: "I wouldn't."
On George Michael's weird new song
Mum: "This is a long song... I might go pour myself another glass of wine." Dad: "I might go cook a chicken."
On Fat Boy Slim
Dad: "Is that him? I thought he was black?" Mum: "Don't be saft. His name's Norman."
On Tinie Tempah
Mum: "That's Tinie Tempah" Dad: "Who? Simon Templar?"

I also need to end this post with the best GIF ever... Boris dancing to The Spice Girls. Absolute legend.
