Illamasqua Lipstick in Magnetism | Review

The second addition to my Illamasqua collection is Magnetism - a deep raspberry shade. After reading a variety of blogs that Magnetism is smooth, it glides on well and it finishes with a soft sheen on your lips, I was quite excited to order it.

Needless to say, I'm actually a bit disappointed. Magnetism, for me, is a gorgeous dark shade, but the formula is nothing like what's been described before. It does glide on well, but I find the lipstick slightly drying and has more of a matte finish than a sheen. I tend to stay away from matte lipsticks because they dry my lips out, so this isn't my dream lipstick.

I will continue to use this lipstick, but I need a decent moisturiser/lipgloss on top so it boosts the colour! Why this lipstick has done the opposite effect for me, I have no idea... *sad face*

Have you tried any Illamasqua lipsticks? What's your favourite?

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Allure | Review

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Allure - £18

I've finally broken my Illamasqua virginity with its powder blusher in Allure. It's a dusty rose pink shimmer that, if you look at the product itself, you presume it wouldn't be too strong, but on application it's a whole other story.

It's incredibly pigmented... Almost too pigmented. One more swoop of your blusher blush and you go from looking sophisticated to looking like some kind of doll. WAY TOO STRONG. You only need the tiniest amount of product to get a subtle look (and I use the word 'subtle' lightly) so I can already tell that this blusher will last me a lifetime.

It lasts throughout the day or night, which is great (and so it should since it's so bloody strong). It's very much on the gold shimmery side, so this blusher is more of a night-time blush in my books. I'm usually not one for shimmery products, but it does look lovely once applied.

Overall, I'm glad I bought this blusher and will save it for any night-time looks or special occasions. I'm also very intrigued about other Illamasqua products as I do rate this one quite highly, as long as you love a bit of shimmer in your life.

I know that you're gonna be OK anyway | Outfit

Shirt: Topshop | Shorts: Primark | Converse: Schuh

I've been meaning to blog this shirt for ages, but I never got round to doing it... I realised how long I'd left it when I spotted the shirt half price in the sale. Don't you just hate it when that happens?!

I love how different this shirt is. I love the length of the sleeves, matched with it being cropped to the waist. It's the perfect shade for autumn (even though my midriff will be pretty chilly!) and I'd happily wear this both for day and night time looks. I wore this with my high waisted shorts and my favourite Converse for a more casual outfit!

Just a quick update from me today, as I'm off on holiday :) YAY. I'm going to Majorca with my boyfriend and I'm super excited. It'll be my first holiday abroad in over 2 years, so it's well overdue. I spent most of yesterday packing (I'd say 4/5 of the suitcase is all mine?!) for a week's worth of sun, sea, sand and cocktails. I repeat... YAAAAAY.

I've scheduled a couple of blog posts for the week anyway, but I'm planning a bit of a blog overhaul when I'm back, so expect me to be back on form then :)

No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream | Review

I couldn't quite get to grips with BB creams when they were the most talked about product in the beauty world. I love coverage, and BB creams never seemed to do the job enough. I love the fact that they contain SPF and are an apparent tinted moisturiser, but it's the coverage that bothered me. I've tried a few brands that completely dried my skin out or were way too dark for me, so I thought I'd give BB creams one more go and reached out to No7's Beautiful Skin BB Cream.

I chose the Normal/Dry formula- I've had bad experiences with other BB creams (literally drying my skin out) but I stayed as optimistic as I could. This didn't appear to dry my skin out, but I had to make sure my skin was moisturised enough beforehand to avoid any mishaps.

It also has two shade options - Fair and Medium. I went for Medium, because Fair seemed too light... Just my luck, Medium seems a bit dark yet again, but it is a lot closer than usual! Plus it will be a good match during/after my holiday when I have a nice tan.

In general, it feels a bit greasy to apply, and I have to apply enough powder to matte it. It does have a nice dewy look to it, but my under eye circles and blemishes can still be seen. I apply it with my fingers, but it could be easier with a brush as the BB cream tends to set quickly... If you don't blend quickly, you end up with a streaky mess on your face.

Do I recommend this product? Yes. Should it replace your foundation? No. I'll definitely pack this in my holiday bag, and may use it whilst I have a good tan in place, but other than that, I'll be sticking with my trusty foundations.

Turn a blind eye with a stare caught right in the middle | Outfit

Top & Skirt: Primark | Necklace: Temporary Secretary | Ring: David Bowie Is at V&A

For the bargainous price of £13, sometimes you can't beat a basic outfit. I love the colour pop with the bright pink crop tee, teamed with my acrylic fangs necklace to give it a bit of an edge. This stone maxi skirt is great and will be very useful for me. I'll be happy to wear this casually, dressed up for an evening out, or even wear it to a work meeting.

The Big Feastival was great fun, but very tired and hard work! I really enjoyed myself though, and last weekend just flew by. The Cotswolds is absolutely stunning and I'd love to visit it properly one day! Considering I'm just over an hour away from there, I should make more of an effort to experience the countryside.

In just over a week's time (next Sunday, in fact), I'm off on holiday to Majorca and I really can't wait! It's been over 2 years since I've been abroad, so it's a long time coming. You know when you just NEED a break from everything? I've long past that point, and I can't wait to get to the hotel, get my bikini on, lie down in the sun with a cocktail and burn (I mean... tan..). I might do a quick holiday blog post soon as I've been on various shopping trips for new holiday clothes because, like I said, it's been two years... Surely that's a good excuse to buy new stuff, right?!
