Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation in Pastelle | Review

Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation in Pastelle - £9.99

I've had a bit of a nightmare recently when it comes to my daytime foundation. I've been an avid user of Max Factor's Smooth Effect foundation for a couple of years now, but I've since found out it's being discontinued! Booo. After a quick consultation with a Max Factor 'specialist' (using the term loosely) in Boots, I was sold the WRONG SHADE (I looked like an Oompa Loompa). A few days later, I complained, Max Factor on Twitter suggested a better shade, and Boots gave me a complimentary foundation. Thanks guyz, you lifesavers!

I'll be honest, I don't rate Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation as much as Smooth Effect. The liquid formula is almost too liquidy, so I struggle to get enough coverage unless I slap the foundation on. If I apply enough, it does even out my skin tone well and gives me a clear complexion, which is great. It's just a shame I have to apply more product than I'd like.

However, I think it does live up to its name... Again, if I apply enough of it! It's lightweight, very easy to apply, and stays on for majority of the day. Considering I apply my makeup at 7.15am during the week, staying power is a big deal for me and this hasn't let me down yet.

Will I repurchase this? I'm still not overly sure... Not just because Max Factor/Boots failed me first time round, but I keep comparing it to Smooth Effect. I have a feeling there are better high street foundations out there...
