The Blogger Made Me Buy It Tag

It's tag time yet again, but this time I've gone for 'The Blogger Made Me Buy It' tag. I'll be honest, I really can't remember which blog I found this tag on first, but I know it's doing the rounds, so you may have spotted this one before!

This tag actually got me thinking more seriously about blogging. I don't think I follow many blogger hypes, especially for beauty, but some of these questions have made me realise just how influential blogging is without even realising... Kind of tempted to find out how many products I actually own that was purchased purely by influence, but that's way too much hassle. Anyway, here are my answers, and don't forget to try this out yourself! :)

1. Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
In all honesty, I read so many blogs that I kind of find it difficult to pinpoint the most influential bloggers for me. I love reading British Beauty Blogger for news and product updates, but in terms of reviews and swatches, I go for Vivianna Does Makeup, Pearls & Poodles, milkteef... The list goes on.

2. Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
I tend to look at more reviews on a product before I go and purchase it myself, especially if it's an expensive product! Not every product suits every skin type, so I like to make sure that it could be a suitable purchase for me and has a lasting impression on more people. Saying that, sometimes it's good to make impulse buys to try it out yourself as it can end up being a nice surprise!

3. What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
One product that has came to mind is Liz Earle's Hot Cloth Cleanser. I absolutely adore that product (and the brand as a whole) and is now one of my must-haves in the bathroom cabinet!

4. What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I really don't understand how people like this product, as I really can't stand it. It's too liquidy, it doesn't feel nice on my face and the coverage is just rubbish. I felt like I was the only blogger that doesn't like the product, but I gave it a go and within 3 wears, it went straight in the bin.

5. Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
Collection concealer (as a repurchase but discovered via blogs), Superdrug's Hot Cloth Cleanser (again, as a repurchase), Maybelline Baby Lips... These have been bought across 6 months, so I guess I don't tend to buy many new products!

6. Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm would be the most recent, although I've only bought one! It's pretty damn good though, especially at the cheap and cheerful price point.

7. Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?
The Urban Decay Naked hype... 1, 2 and 3! I don't know why but I just couldn't part with my money for any of those palettes, despite the rave reviews each palette received on blogs and from my closest friends. I guess I'm not a massive eyeshadow wearer unless I've got an event/occasion to go to, so I can kind of justify not buying it... Bloody tempting though.

8. Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
I like to ask my close friends for their views on products, as they're pretty clued up on beauty too. However, I near enough always check blogs just to double check! It's nice to see swatches of products, have an idea of what to expect etc. However, like I said before, I occasionally make impulse buys before researching... I may have heard about products from a blogger, but I go in blind and take a chance! Sometime's it's more fun to review a product that you know nothing about :)
