'Cause you light up the path | Outfit

Monki shirt | Primark skirt

Checks and mint green = love. This slightly oversized monochrome shirt is my first item by Monki and has sparked a new love for the brand! I love the pleather collar, and the fact it's oversized means it's very comfortable and quite light to wear. Perfect for a quirky work meeting look I think!

Teaming it up with my (slightly too big) Primark pleather skirt got me quite excited too. Time to get the sewing machine out! Why don't brands sell size 9?

Pizza Express Lunch Menu | Review

I was invited to try out Pizza Express' new Express Lunch menu - a new menu dedicated to quick and tasty meals for lunchtime, including some Pizza Express classics. During a little day out to Worcester with Alex, we decided to go to the city centre branch to check it out.

It looks like quite a small menu but you do have plenty to choose from. It starts from £3.45 and includes soups, Piadinas, salads and Romanita pizzas... You can even choose sides such as the beloved dough balls! Nom.

I'm a bit of a fussy eater, but my all-time favourite Pizza Express choice, Pollo ad Astra pizza (but on the thinner Romanita base), was available so I instantly chose that. My pizza was delicious, with just the right amount of chicken, peppers and onions. It was also a pretty decent size for lunch to be honest! I happily gave up a couple of slices to Alex as I got a bit full (and also felt bad that my lunch was bigger than his).

For blog review reasons, Alex kindly chose the Italian meats piadina... Not the best looking dish above, but he really enjoyed it! It included a trio of cured Italian meats, roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, rocket, pesto, black pepper and finished with extra virgin olive oil. He said it was really tasty and he soon polished it off.

As for the doughballs, you only get 4 but they were just as good as normal and the portion was enough on top of everything else. So much bread!

The restaurant was really quiet so we were in and out of Pizza Express within 40 minutes. FORTY MINUTES. I think that's a perfect time for lunch, especially if you want a fancy lunch on a work day as you won't be late going back to the office. I'm sure we'll be heading back there for lunch one day... Maybe next time I'll find room for a dessert.

Have you tried out Pizza Express' new lunchtime menu?

Stop 'n Grow | Review

Stop 'n Grow - £4.50

Nail biting has been the bane of my life, so I needed some willpower to help me kick the habit right at the beginning. Is there anything better to try than something that claims it has 'willpower in a bottle'?!

I've actually used this product before, in the days when I couldn't kick the habit and I actually got used to the taste. BLEURGH. Luckily I can't get used to it anymore (I must have even more willpower).

Stop 'n Grow is designed to help you to stop biting your nails as it leaves a disgusting taste on your nails, that actually stays on your lips so it really puts you off going for more.

Saying that, the taste actually seeps onto your fingers a little bit because the consistency is quite watery. I was put off eating crisps, chocolate and the like as all I could taste was this! Good for nails and diet?!

It's clear when you paint it on so you can't tell that you've got it on your nails. It also stinks so I wouldn't paint this in public. The smell does go away once it's dried on your nails though.

If you're desperate to kick the habit, like me, then I definitely recommend this! It's not very pleasant in the slightest, but it bloody works.

Just one feeling then I know | Outfit

Primark dress | New Look sandals

I'm so glad the weather is starting to get better (slowly but surely) so I can finally dig out this beautiful pleated midi dress from Primark! It's just perfect. I really hope I find this dress in more summery shades so I can stock up on them. I don't usually like to buy the same item twice but I will happily make an exception with this one.

I wore this to my friend's hen do in Birmingham last week - we had a lovely time getting our makeup done at Illamasqua, followed by gatecrashing a BBQ at my best friend's friend's house and then saw McBusted! They were actually ah-mazing!

I'm busy busy busy this weekend too - this time, it's for Alex's birthday! Drinks in Bewdley and then a day in Birmingham where I'm taking him out for a meal to somewhere I know he will love (I won't say on here just in case he reads this post before Sunday). I do love celebrating birthdays :)

Snails Nails | Review

Snails Nails* - €8 each

I can't wait to try out this product on my nieces. It's such a great idea for kids!

Snails Nails is a non-toxic, washable nail polish for children. In fact, it's the world’s first 100% European water soluble and easily washable children’s nail polish, allowing children to enjoy imaginative play without harmful chemicals. If your little girl wants to have pretty painted nails like you, then you needn't worry anymore.

I received two pink shades to try, which will be perfect for my nieces, but you can purchase so many other colours too! After a couple of coats, the colours really came through which I was impressed about. It didn't take too long to dry at all and seemed to hold well with no chipping.

The part which I love the most about this product though, is the fact that it's washable. Rub the nail polish under the tap and it comes off! I'm surprised at just how easy it was to wash off the polish - perfect if your children want to paint their nails in the weekend but need to take it off before school.

For €8 each, I guess they're not very cheap, but the quality is brilliant and you can't really put a price on a child's safety, can you?

What do you think of Snails Nails?

How long will I love you | Outfit

Zara lace dress | Truffle wellies

I fell in love with this pink lace dress from Zara as soon as I spotted it online, and I just knew that I had to buy it for my wedding outfit! It's stunning, fits really well and is very flattering. The black lace pattern adds just enough detail without being too eye-catching. I love how the lace is also longer so it's more of a midi dress.

Now, as the wedding was in a field, the theme was 'wellies', so it was a good excuse to purchase these cute black ankle booties with cream bows at the front! Of course, I had a pair of classic black heels to change into for the evening, but the wellies were perfect for the ceremony outside. They were pretty comfortable for £20 too, so I'm sure these will come in handy when we have more rainy days (hopefully not for the next few months though...)!

The wedding itself was absolutely beautiful and it was a real joy to be a part of it. The field (covered in bluebells) was the perfect location for the couple and luckily the rain held off whilst the ceremony was taking place. The decor at the reception was even better, with handmade bunting, slate placemats and wheelbarrows full of wine bottles to name but a few of the detailing. Although, why I got drunk and took part in a dance off with the groomsmen to end the night is a whole other story...

I'm in proper wedding mode right now... Next stop: Another hen do!

Bistrotea TeaPods | Review

Bistrotea TeaPods* - £14.80

I love a good cup of tea. Granted, most of the time I forget to drink all of it as it gets too cold, but a cup of tea fixes everything.

The Bistrotea TeaPod is a new organic, fair trade tea that packs in flavour and fragrance all in a little packet that looks like those sugar packets you find in pubs or cafes!

I'll admit, they are a bit of a gimmick to me. I don't let teabags infuse with the water for very long. I mash them up in the water, take them out and add milk. Boom. BistroTea's Tea Pods need at least 3-5 minutes to infuse, and you have to constantly mix it during that time too. Once infused, you add the milk and use the Teapod to stir it in too. I really can't knock the fact that it tastes like a decent cup of tea, but it took a bit longer than I expected. Maybe I'm just a bit lazy.

I do like how you don't need a teaspoon to make a cup of tea and it doesn't really leave any mess when you take it out of the cup. I think these would be great to keep in your handbag for any tea emergencies that might appear... I'm not sure when that would be, but it must happen!

A great thing about this range is that each TeaPod includes premium grade organic tea leaves, that are harvested, selected and processed in Sri Lanka on Fair Trade estates. You can buy TeaPods in various flavours, such as your classic English Breakfast and Earl Grey and herbal blends including goji berry and herbs n' honey.

A carton of TeaPods costs £14.80 and includes 32 single blend TeaPods... Rather pricy, but I guess it could be a pretty nice gift for those who love tea and like to try something different!

Have you tried Bistrotea TeaPods? What's your favourite cup of tea?

Sally Hansen Miracle Cure & Maximum Growth | Review

Sally Hansen Miracle Cure Strengthener - £9.99 | Sally Hansen Maximum Growth - £4.89

I'm currently in the middle of trying to kick my 25 year long habit of biting my nails. Finally, right? It's so bloody difficult, but now my nails are getting longer, low and behold they're showing just how weak they are.

I decided to try out a couple of Sally Hansen products to see if they will help. I picked up the Sally Hansen Miracle Cure strengthener and the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth treatment so I can look after them.

The Miracle Cure is for severe, problem nails, which is exactly what I class my nails as at the moment. They've never had a chance to grow and strengthen, so I thought this would be perfect to prevent them from breaking or splitting. I've been using this product for nearly 3 weeks and my nails have improved, but they have a very long way to go!

Maximum Growth claims that you will have visible results in 1 week... Whether this is true or not, I'm not sure. I'm kicking my habit so of course they are growing, therefore I'm not entirely sure if this is truly helping or if it's a bit of a gimmick. I'll try anything though, especially if it'll just help to protect them further!

Have you tried any of Sally Hansen's range? What do you do to protect your nails?
