Now I'm ready to start | Outfit

Ark crop top | Topshop skirt

I've been waiting for so long for the right moment and the right weather to wear this Topshop orange midi skirt! It's been in my wardrobe for months and it's finally been out to play.

I wore this last weekend during a little day out to enjoy the sunshine and, although I bought it one size too small by accident, it still fits well and is a great length so you don't feel the need to wear any tights with it.

The waistband is stretchy which is why one size smaller is still okay, but I would recommend going for the right size anyway. It did start to feel a little tight, especially when you start feeling hotter after a day under the sun!

It's a gorgeous colour though, and I'd happily dress this up for a night out at some point too. The time round, I wore my white cropped top from Ark that I've had for a couple of years now... My trusty white crop top that's not too short and goes with pretty much everything!

Now, enough about talking about sunshine... Where the hell has it gone?! A relaxing weekend of baking (using one of GBBO winner Frances Quinn's recipes you can get from here *cheeky work plug*) and potential cinema times are on the cards I think. It's time like this when I'm more happy watching Glastonbury on my TV with a cuppa... :)

MAC Satin Lipstick in Rebel | Review

MAC Satin Lipstick in Rebel - £15

I love this lipstick, I really do.

At first sight, I was terrified that MAC Rebel is a strong deep purple shade, but it's actually a deep berry colour once applied - a nice mixture of pink, purple and red.

It's got great lasting power and doesn't dry my lips out. It feels lovely and smooth, and is very easy to apply. You don't need to apply too much either as the colours really come out to play as soon as you apply it. I don't apply too much, but the colour really screams out if you add more to it. The colour goes darker and perfect for a nighttime look.

Shout out to the mother who actually picked this for me!

Do you own MAC Rebel?

Benefit Go Tropicoral | Review

Benefit Go Tropicoral Lip and Cheek Kit - £25.50

Benefit is bringing out so much cute little kits recently - they're perfect if you don't want to fork out on full size products and want to try out a variety.

I received the Go Tropicoral set for Christmas, and I absolutely love using it. Benefit's High Beam is one of my favourite highlighters,

The other products are relatively new to me, but I love coral shades with my skin tone so I knew I would like using them. The Cha Cha Tint is a mango shade tint that you can use on your cheeks and lips. It's a lovely sheer stain, which lasts most of the day. It's a nice, creamy texture and blends really well.

CORALista is a coral/tropical blush that really compliments the Cha Cha Tint. The pigmentation is fab and it blends really easily on your skin. It'll be great to wear during spring/summer!

I'm not usually one for lipglosses but the CORALista Ultra Plush lipgloss is a pleasant surprise. The colour is a lot darker than the blush, which I like as it adds some nice colour to your lips but still looks quite natural. In fact, I like to use this on top of my orange lipsticks in order to add some shine to it!

What do you think of Benefit's lip and cheek sets? What's your favourite?

My hidden treasure chest | Outfit

New Look crop top | H&M maxi skirt | JuJu jelly shoes

I love crop tops in the summertime, especially when wearing something high-waisted with it. This little black and white checked top is perfect for the season. It's a good length for a crop top (especially for me) and I feel very comfortable wearing it for daytime or nighttime, depending on what I wear it with of course.

I also had to replace my black maxi skirt and H&M has some great colour choices at the moment. I might stock up whilst I can!

I've been in Holland throughout the week, visiting my brother, sister-in-law, niece and finally meeting my baby nephew! He is the sweetest thing ever, and my niece never fails to surprise me. She's so clever for a 3 year old! I had such lovely time over in Oesgtgeest (dare you to try and say that correctly). Holland is such a gorgeous place, when you visit the right places. I'm quite glad I'm back home now so I can catch up on sleep and enjoy the lovely weather though... Picnic time!

essence blush up! powder blush | Review

essence blush up! powder blush in 10 heat wave*

In all honesty, this blush scared the hell out of me. IT'S SO BRIGHT AND ORANGE AND PINK. I was instantly worried that this blush wouldn't suit me. That it would be so bright on my cheeks that I look like a clown. That I would like a little girl trying make-up for the first time and applying waaaay too much.

I fell straight into the 'judging a book by its cover' trap, but I needn't have worried whatsoever. This blusher is gorgeous! Yes, it looks very vibrant, but the product is a lovely coral-pink colour that isn't too pigmented. You can build it up easily, but a quick sweep with a blusher brush is more than enough to achieve a daytime look.

Word on the street is that essence cosmetics is coming to the UK incredibly soon (in Wilkos nationwide)... It also costs €2.90 on the website link above - a serious bargain, especially for the quality. It's honestly became my go-to blusher for my daytime look.

 Have you tried essence products?

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch | Review

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch - £2.99

This is my go-to lip moisturiser when my lips are just a little bit dry and in need of a bit of colour and shine.

I guess you can call Maybelline's Baby Lips range a bit of a blogger fave, and I can totally understand why. The Pink Punch version is a gorgeous pale pink shade for your lips. It's very moisturising and makes your lips feel lovely and soft. I don't feel like I need to reapply often, but I do purely to keep the colour going (especially if I'm in a work meeting or event). It smells delish too.

I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference to my lips if they feel dry. Once the product has worn off, my lips feel dry all over again. It's better to use this if your lips need a little boost but I wouldn't swap your traditional lip balm for this.

The packaging is super cute too - it may not look high-end, but don't judge a book by its cover. All in all, it's a great little addition to my handbag and fab quality for the price! Perfect for summer when your lips may not need that extra care.

My life and love might still go on | Outfit

Miss Selfridge maxi dress | H&M black heels

Not only have I been counting down to my friend's wedding, I've also been counting down the days to wear this dress! I fell head over heels as soon as I spotted this dress and knew I had to wear it! I bought it one size bigger as the top is very fitted.

There isn't a zip or anything as it's stretchy material, but once you've got the top half on, the bottom half just drapes down to suit your shape. I love the side splits too, although they do tend to creep up a bit when sat down. I can't wait to wear it again when the weather gets hotter as it'll be perfect dressed down with some sandals or wedges.

My gorgeous friend Scarlet got married to her fiancé Steven last weekend - thankfully the weather held off and it was such a beautiful day for them. It was just perfect and I'm so happy for them... And yes, I got emotional as per usual. I swear I'm getting worse. Take a look at my Instagram if you'd like to see a few photos!

Now? I'm galavanting around Taste of Dublin for the weekend with work (Irish bloggers: come and say hi if you're around!), then I'll be back home for 24 hours before jumping on a jet plane AGAIN to Holland for some seriously overdue family time. I'm also hoping to catch up on some blogging (including some overdue comments too!) whilst the kids are having their afternoon naps... Why not eh?!

Personalised Peppa Pig Books by Penwizard | Review

Now I know what you're thinking... What on earth am I doing reviewing these children's books? Well I honestly think these are the most amazing things that I'm going to give to my nieces EVER.

Personalised Peppa Pig books from Penwizard* - £14.99 each

I bought the 'Peppa and Emily Go Swimming' book for my niece's birthday, and Penwizard kindly gifted me the My Daddy book for my niece Lotte, especially since it's coming up to Father's Day.

Each book has its own little story, customised so your child/niece/nephew/granddaughter/grandson/WHOEVER can be featured alongside Peppa and her crew. You can even create a little character to represent them as well... And the My Daddy book allowed you to customise their dad too! I'm sure my brother is going to be THRILLED at how he looks in this book...

The stories are so cute, and you can include a little personalised message at the beginning of the book too so it becomes a keepsake.

I got very excited about these books, as I still own a small personalised Christmas book which I received when I was little (granted, it's from Germany and is a lot more meaningful, but still). I hope my nieces keep these books safe and sound through the years and even pass them down generations. It's such a lovely idea which kids will absolutely love!

What do you think of personalised kid's books?

Benefit Bella Bamba | Review

Benefit Bella Bamba blusher - £23.50

I swear Benefit Cosmetics never fails with its boxed blusher range. Bella Bamba is such a gorgeous shade, highly pigmented and perfect for a nighttime look.

It's a slightly dark coral pink shade with gold shimmer, but it does give you a pretty natural flushed look if you only apply a small amount. I honestly got a little bit nervous about using this because the colour looks pretty strong in the packaging, but it's so easy to blend in and a little goes a very long way.

You can't really fault the packaging in general either - I always love the Benefit boxes, but it's not great to fit in your little handbag! This time, Bella Bamba's packaging has a lovely 3D/holographic look to it, which matches its product description perfectly. It also comes up with the standard Benefit blusher brush too, which I do actually use as it makes the blusher easier to sweep across your cheekbones.

The name also makes me think of the song 'La Bamba'... Random thought to end my review right there, but it makes me smile.

What do you think of Benefit's Bella Bamba?

Money, do you need it? | Outfit

Primark tshirt | Topshop dress | H&M leggings | JuJu jelly shoes | H&M necklace

Why it's taken me so long to purchase some jelly shoes, I have no idea. I'm seriously embracing my childhood right now with these sparkly silver jelly shoes by JuJu! I cannot wait for the weather to get better again so I can wear them all summer.

You still get the standard feeling of your feet getting completely stuck in them though, and I forgot how weird that feeling is. However I do love teaming these with some white frilly socks just to be a bit different.

I'm off to another wedding today - this time, my lovely friend Scarlet is tying the knot and I couldn't be happier for her. I just really hope the bad weather holds off long enough for the photos! I'm so excited to wear my new maxi dress as well... Check my Instagram for a sneaky peak!

Also, how is it June already? Seriously? It's officially work event season, where I'll be heading off to Taste of Dublin next week for my second year, but then I actually have a week off work when I get to visit my brother, sister-in-law, 3 year old niece and new baby nephew in Holland for a few days! Okay, I'm glad it's June now!

Astral Original All Over Moisturiser | Review

Astral Original All Over Moisturiser* - £7.99

Astral has been a go-to product for many people for many years. It's more for the mature audience, and you can use it all over your body if you wish - it's perfect for everyone. I've never used it until now...

It's a rich, thick and creamy moisturiser which instantly worried me as I thought it would be too heavy for my skin. However, it sunk into my skin quickly and made my face feel smooth, soft and not greasy in the slightest. It's great for dry skin, which I have, but it's probably too much for other skin types to handle.

I probably apply a bit too much than needed, because it's not the easiest to spread across your face evenly. Saying that, I haven't suffered from any breakouts or irritation which is great. It does smell a bit odd... I can't quite put my finger on what the smell is, but it's not an awful smell, it just smells a bit 'old'.

I have been using this in my nighttime routine, and my skin actually feels pretty moisturised when I wake up in the morning so it does last a long time. I'm also going to start using this on my hands and feet to see if it makes any difference with the dryness there as they're pretty bad at the moment!

I'm impressed so far!

Have you ever tried Astral?
